Community Guidelines
RepairHub is a community of repair technicians helping one another. A few simple rules keep it useful and welcoming.
1. Be helpful and specific
- Share the device model, symptom, steps you’ve tried, and what you expect.
- Attach photos where they help — close-ups of damaged components are gold.
- When answering, explain the why behind a fix, not just the steps.
2. Be respectful
- No harassment, hate speech, slurs, or personal attacks.
- Critique the repair, not the person. Everyone starts somewhere.
- Keep discussions in English unless a category explicitly allows another language.
3. No spam or self-promotion
- Don’t post affiliate links, bulk referrals, or duplicate threads.
- Experts can mention their expert-support service when it’s relevant to an answer, but don’t derail threads with sales pitches.
- Linking to your own YouTube repair tutorial is fine if it directly answers the question.
4. Safety first
- Never encourage bypassing safety interlocks (e.g., battery protection ICs, isolation on line-voltage gear, airbag systems).
- Warn about battery puncture, laser exposure, capacitor energy, and line-voltage hazards when relevant.
- Under-age posters must not receive advice that involves high voltage, soldering without adult supervision, or hazardous chemicals.
5. Respect intellectual property
- Don’t paste proprietary service manuals, schematics, or firmware dumps you do not have permission to share.
- When quoting or embedding, give credit and link to the source.
6. No illegal content
- Nothing that helps commit theft (e.g., bypassing iCloud Activation Lock, MDM escapes, police body-cam tampering).
- No counterfeit-part deals, malware, or stolen credentials.
- No CSAM or content that endangers minors. We report such content to authorities.
7. Expert sessions
- Experts must deliver what they promise. Don’t misrepresent your qualifications.
- Clients should share diagnostic info up front and keep conversation on topic.
- Disputes: email [email protected] with session ID and details.
8. Reporting
Use the “Report” button on any question or answer, or email us, if you see content that breaks these rules. Moderators review every report.
9. Enforcement
We may hide content, warn users, restrict posting, or ban accounts that break these guidelines or our Terms of Service. Repeated or severe violations may lead to permanent bans without refund of subscription fees.
10. Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was wrong, email [email protected] within 30 days. Include your username and a brief explanation.
